After retiring from a career in engineering in California, Carthage-born Jesse McCormick now pursues his art profession full-time in Carterville, Mo.  Many of his works have won awards in art competitions and are in private collections.   McCormick’s paintings and drawings can be described as symbolist in style.  He states that his works “like my dreams, mirror my life like hieroglyphs and funhouse mirrors...  Using tools of art, I move my inner vision out where others may see it and it may remain for a while….”   The artist is currently experimenting in reproducing his art tile, glass, postcards, and note cards in an effort to make his work more accessible.  Some of the works in the exhibit are included below; more can be viewed on McCormick's website.
