Dr. Brad Kleindl, Dean of the Business School at MSSU, exercises his artistic
side by creating pots based upon traditional Japanese forms. His pottery
reflects man’s relationship with nature; he believes that the closer a pot
gets to natural forms, the more pleasing it is to the eye. Kleindl also
prefers glazes that reflect nature---for
example, clear celadon glazes that enhance the natural characteristics of the
clay underneath or Raku glazes that mimic the natural processes of time.
While many of the pots appear to be utilitarian, they are designed to be
visually pleasing rather than merely functional.
