The Post Memorial Art Reference Library is honored to announce its month-long exhibit of photographs by the late Jim Mueller.

Jim's zeal for the environment manifested itself in many ways.  His name often surfaced in area newspapers as he waged war against those responsible for environmental problems.  Yet even those who considered him a thorn in their sides for his activism also respected and admired him for his intelligence and integrity.

Photography provided another outlet for Jim's passion.  He was invited to study with Ansel Adams in a workshop in Yosemite National Park, where he also worked as an assistant to Adams.  Back home, Jim served as president of the Spiva Art Center Board and was co-founder of Photospiva, a national photography competition.  His black and white and color photographs document diverse scenes from the West Coast to the Ozarks.

His camera seeks out beauty and humor in the world around him - landscapes, buildings, alleys, and the unexpected pleasures of "found" still-lifes.
