FEBRUARY 2004:
Skip Smith Graphic Art

In celebration of Black History Month, this month's exhibit features the exquisitely-detailed pastel and graphite work of Skip Smith of Parsons, Kansas.  The images introduce us to Americans of African descent, from the famous (Dr. Martin Luther King) to neighborhood children to the elderly.  Smith's work focuses on the hands as well as the faces, speaking volumes about daily existence and the toll it takes on humans.
