The Post Library is pleased to present the dynamic duo of Stephanie Cope & Michael Shectman, two innovative artists who happen to like each other and plan to marry later this year.

Stephanie and Michael (cut paper) by Michael Shectman

Michael Shectman will draw or cut-paper the devil out of any subject.  His favorite art is surrealist and abstract.  He's an art student, superchef, and bike enthusiast.  He likes yoga, grungy sidewalks, bright-colored duct tape, perfection, texture, plaid pants, and nature.  He has a bigger collection of multicolored paper in a massive file folder than anyone you know.  He makes functional/organizational art, plays any instrument in sight, and experiments with food in his spare time.  For further information, read his art theory book at this exhibit!  See more of Shectman's work on his blog, lazrielart.blogspot.com.

Stephanie Cope has been creating art since infancy, or at least as long as she can remember.  Her favorite artists are Alphonse Much (for his work) and Bob Ross (for his attitude toward art).  She's a budding psychologist, long-time feminist, and works in a public library.  She likes graffiti, bright colors, supermarkets, mixtapes, cemeteries, glitter, pinup girls, talking to animals, dichotomies, and the open road.  She makes a lot of mixes and is in production of the second issue of her zine called CHICKWEED.  You are invited to read her blog at mixtressrae.blogspot.com.
