May 2007 Exhibit:

In celebration of National Historic Preservation Month, the Post Library is displaying multi-media works by Carthage artist Brenda M. Sageng.  These works, which depict architectural gems in Europe, Joplin, and Pittsburg, Kansas, focus on the windows and doorways of structures that stand at the brink of collapse or destruction.  Sageng works include charcoal and metal point drawings and oil and watercolor paintings.  Her art captures the eloquence of the buildings while evoking a sense of melancholy over their impending doom.
