November 2005 Exhibit

The work of Kyle McKenzie, Webb City artist, is on display
at the Post Art Library this month.  Although McKenzie executes his
paintings in a realistic manner with traditional depth perspective, his
ambiguous subject matter is anything but traditional and borders on the
surreal.  He also experiments with space and depth in his shadowbox
constructions, which are composed of floating layers of painted glass
within a wood frame.

According to McKenzie,
"These pieces explore transparency and the relationship
between actual and illusionistic space."
