Dog and Lion: Limestone, 1888.

 

 Dr. and Mrs. Post acquired these

 pieces after the demolition of a

 historic hotel in Eureka Springs.

 

 

 The animals resided on the terrace

 overlooking the Post's English Garden.

door is a stone head of Edward II,

who ruled England (1307-1327)

before suffering a particularly gruesome

death at the hands of his enemies.
